Time is brain

Behind every stroke, there is a family that says, "Let's wait a little, maybe it will pass."

As a medical student, this is the sentence that worries me most.

In a stroke, the brain can lose about two million neurons every minute. Every minute matters, and waiting can cost someone their speech, their movement, or their independence.

If you notice any of these in someone you love, don't wait — go to the nearest hospital immediately.

01 — Face
Drooping on one side
02 — Limbs
Weakness or numbness in an arm or leg
03 — Speech
Slurred words, or trouble finding them
04 — Sudden
Severe headache, vision loss, or loss of balance
The detail people forget

Note the time the symptoms started and tell the doctor. That one detail can change the treatment options.

Medicine is not only about what we learn in books. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is share what we know with the people around us.

If this reaches one family, it was worth writing. Please share it with someone you care about.
